A hometown newspaper with long Smyrna roots

Smyrna A.M., which traces its roots to the former Rutherford Courier, has been hailed by Gannett as one of the most effective TMC (total market coverage) platforms ever produced by the nation's largest newspaper company.

According to a 2007 Gannett readership survey, 81 percent of the audience picks it up the free Wednesday Smyrna A.M. at least once a month, while 73 percent read it weekly.

Smyrna A.M. publishes more than 15,000 copies every Wednesday and is distributed exclusively in the 37167 ZIP Code.

It is delivered for free to most Smyrna households and is inserted in home-delivery and single-copy editions of The Daily News Journal and The Tennessean.
